Handmade Christmas Cards

My good friend Bea is very creative. She doesn't only make gemstonejewelries but also beautiful greeting cards for all occassions. I admire her because inspite of her sickness, she still manage to
be useful by turning her hobbies to a small local business. She has been thru bad times but still she remains positive. I want to help her by putting up this blog to make her known outside The Netherlands.  If you are interested for her cards, please contact her on this link Gemstonetrees or
thru e-mail bea9664@yahoo.com.

My Christmas decoration

My Christmas decoration this year will be very simple. I am not going to put up a christmas tree, just some christmas balls.

Christmas

Christmas is my favorite holiday tradition! I have 2 brothers and a sister. I love it when the whole family gathered at my parents home including husbands, wifes, children, grandchildren and friends. It is a kind of a family reunion. Everybody arrives on the 24th of December. Each brother or sister brings his/her favorite recipe, in that way my parents will not spend so much time in the kitchen preparing the food. Then we will go together to the midnight mass to thank GOD for all the blessings we all received and after the mass we will have that big midnight diner.

After the diner, we will gather around the christmas tree for the gifts. Everyone has to describe the one he is giving the gift and that someone has to guess it's him. Then there is games, dancing and singing until dawn.

This coming christmas, my family are really looking forward to it. We are all coming home (a total of 25 persons) and we will see the whole family again around the christmas tree after 23 years:)!

There is a time for work and there is a time for relaxation...

Three months ago, I visited Diana...one of my dear friends and she lives in Veendam. It is  about 2 hours drive from my place. She is very preggy, but experienced back and pelvic pains. So she asked me to go swimming with her. She said, the warm water and the bubble bath helped ease her pain. So we went swimming and took with us a bag full of drinks and snacks:)! We stayed there for 5 hours, spent 3x 15 minutes on the steam sauna. We also brought scrub salts and scrubbed ourselves while we were sitting in the sauna. By the time we were ready, all our dead cells were gone and a new smooth glowing skin appeared:).

Yesterday, I came to see her again. She was getting closer to her due month. Her midwife said, she might be delivering her baby earlier than January 4. Maybe this month (November)! Wow..I think she is right. She is huge and wiggles when she walks. While we were sitting on the bubble bath yesterday, she told me she fell from the bike last Monday:(.  I told her to be careful because she might get hurt and her baby too.

The Beauty of Autumn.

As the days go by, I see the changes of the leaves of the trees. From green to yellow, orange and brown. Some trees from green to bright red. With a little help of the winds...they will all fall and soon you will see just the skeleton of these lovely trees.

It is so beautiful to see these vivid colours. Once you are in the woods, you can smell the autumn fragrance, and can see the remains of the summer. We went for a walk on "Het Eksternest" today and saw this garden.

Aida Ayong

When I read about your "Singles Friday" announcement, I thought immediately of my friend Aida. I know Greece is outside US, but I was still determined to post her name on your blog. I have been since shortly a frequent reader of your blog and I love really what you write. And I totally agree that God has his ways. And this is one of His ways.
So, here is her story.

Aida Ayong is my high school friend. She is 49 years old and presently working in Athens, Greece for 8 years now. She is shy (I think one of the reason why she is still alone until this time) but she is sweet, caring, very loyaal, has a soft character and a real dear friend when you get to know her.

Aida is originally from the Philippines and has been living abroad for 14 years. If anyone wants more information or finds her interesting, please contact me or leave a comment and I will see to it that she gets it. Thank you.
